CIPS Exam Dates 2026: November Booking and a Prep Plan
CIPS November exam bookings are open now. Check the official dates, book through the right route, and plan revision around the module you intend to sit.
If you are aiming for a CIPS Objective Response exam in November, check the booking deadline before you build your revision calendar: the current CIPS schedule says online booking for the November 2026 OR series closes on 13 October.
The November OR exam window is 9–13 November 2026, with results listed for 4 December. CIPS lists booking for that series as 22 September–13 October, opening at 09:00 UK time. Dates can change, so confirm the exact module, time slot and delivery option on CIPS before paying.

The schedule has separate Objective Response (OR) and Constructed Response (CR) information. CIPS says the November series includes both; the January series is OR only. Its CR timetable also assigns modules to set sessions. Check the official timetable for the module you plan to sit rather than assuming every format runs every series.
“Register for CIPS” can mean two different things
Joining as a CIPS student member starts the qualification route. Booking an exam is a separate step. If you self-study, CIPS says you book your own exam online. If you study through an approved centre, the centre arranges bookings for its learners.
Before you pay, decide whether you want a test-centre appointment or remote invigilation, check the available module and timeslot, and confirm the rules for changes or cancellation. CIPS says OR learners can choose from three available timeslots on a day in the OR exam week; CR exams run at set dates and times. Availability and costs should be checked in your own booking flow.
How to plan revision around the exam date
Start with the exam window, then work backwards:
- Choose the module and format. Check the module page and current syllabus. CIPS Level 4 includes both OR and CR assessments, so the practice you need depends on the module.
- Reserve study sessions before booking. Put short, repeatable sessions in your week instead of relying on a last-minute weekend.
- Use the learning outcomes as your checklist. For each topic, note what you can explain, what you can apply, and what still feels uncertain.
- Practise and review. Answer a small set of questions, explain why your selected response fits, then return to the ideas you missed. For CR preparation, practise applying concepts to a context and structuring a complete response.
- Leave time for a final review. Use the last week to revisit weak areas and exam logistics, not to start every topic from scratch.
That is a planning framework, not a promise that a fixed number of weeks suits every learner. If you are not ready for November, the January OR window gives another published option; recheck its booking dates before committing.
